Since her audition, Lingling captured the hearts of international fans with her strong performances and her fancams were some of the most viewed on Mnet’s YouTube channel.

During the recent episode, it was time for more eliminations. Yet, throughout the episode, even the other contestants thought that Lingling was not only safe, but she would rank at the top.

Shockingly, Lingling didn’t make it to the top and placed in tenth, meaning she wouldn’t make it to the second part of the show. In her speech, done in English, she thanked the fans for their support.

Netizens couldn’t hide their shock and anger at the shocking elimination.

In particular, along with being mad, netizens were confused after seeing the voting numbers for Lingling. While it wasn’t surprising that her Korean votes were low, netizens were surprised that international votes were only just over 266,000.

After seeing the votes, netizens were extremely confused at the low number of international votes, as Lingling has always been a firm favorite of fans. In particular, it led to accusations of Mnet “rigging” the show and the votes so that LingLing would be eliminated.

Others shared that since the show started, Mnet has been “racist” and “xenophobic” towards Lingling, who is Malyasian.

Yet, some fans shared that while it was shocking, it might not be accurate to claim it was rigged. In particular, one OP shared that Yeeun and LingLing are extremely popular, and it would have meant that Mnet would want them to stay on the show and debut to help the debuting group succeed.

While the rigging accusations stem from netizens, Mnet has faced accusations in the past when it comes to survival shows.
