Singer UMI “Bullied” For Mentioning ARMY In A Now-Deleted Tweet
On December 30, 2023, just after BTS V’s military enlistment, a special collaboration track with singer UMI was released. “wherever u r” served as one last surprise for ARMY sad about not being able to celebrate the idol’s birthday with him in the usual way.
Like many BTS collaboration projects, the female singer was initially welcomed by most fans, who appreciated her sweet farewell and promise to V.
However, recently, some fans have had to come to UMI’s defense, all related to a now-deleted tweet.
UMI announced her Talking To The Wind World Tour in late January, featuring dates in Australia, Asia, and Hawaii.
Ahead of the first tour dates in March, the singer shared a tweet on X, relaying the information to her followers. In the tweet, UMI specifically addressed ARMY and said that she would be performing the collaboration track for the first time.
Some did not like the specific mention, telling UMI to stop “using” ARMY and BTS, calling it “annoying.”
army isn't ur fandom, please stop to call us.
We care abt the collaboration w Taehyung, not your concert.— ⁷arii 🌼 (@ur_ririii) March 5, 2024
Army is not the name of your fandom, we only supported the song because Tae was involved so stop mentioning us every time you do something. It's really annoying 🫠

sick of you trying to use tae and army. have some respect and call your own fandom will you? are you desperate that much?

Hello, do you know what it means to "have your own fandom and not hang on other artists and FANDOMS"? I see that not, get your own fandom who likes your music, not the armys, we are for bts Not for randoms who only use it for their benefit, become known for your own efforts.

UMI would go on to delete the tweet, which many have attributed to the influx of tweets “bullying” the artist. However, many ARMY have come to her defense, saying that the negative responses were “mean-spirited.”
deadass bullied umi into deleting her tweet just because she wanted to promote her tour. y’all are just mean and genuinely awful spirited people to treat someone so sweet like that for what? even if u don’t like what she was doing, just the way y’all were talking to her was so ew

Because of the like of you, umi deleted her tweet😀
if you don’t want to support, you can simply ignore it
Also umi a few days age was crying and wanted to give up on making music and now yall did this!

Y’all make my blood BOIL what the hell cus not a single celebrity would be upset with a collaborator speaking kindly to armys about seeing her at a concert.
This helicopter parent shit y’all do with BTS is so tiring and NO it’s not normal GO OUTSIDE and leave UMI ALONE— BIitz (ia)MIN MARCH 🍊| ⭐️(ꪜ )🥢🪞🌊🃏 🧑🏻🚀 (@yoongisgunner) March 5, 2024
Others reflected on how other collaborators are and were treated, saying the harassment UMI faced was due to anti-blackness.
mind you….MAX has nawt left that hybe building and is promoting blueberry eyes every 4 hours and y’all giggle but when umi does it, yall attack her? y’all so anti-black and don’t even try to hide it 🧍🏾♀️

just four days ago yall gave a whole ass zionist 14k likes on his tweet mentioning the tannies, yet when umi tries to say ANYTHING yall start dragging her for no reason. yall dont care about scooter and his nasty ass friends either. the white supremacy in this fandom SHOWS.
— vita follow @kookainedealer (@shakesqueerjr) March 5, 2024
y'all have no problem with zionists in our spaces but then start foaming at the mouth and harass umi for inviting people to her concert, go fuck yourselves seriously bunch of bigoted spineless losers, the pattern here is very obvious

More energy for Umi than Scooter. Y'all deserve nothing.
