SM Entertainment Releases Additional Statement About Red Velvet’s Wendy, As Well As Red Velvet’s Further Year-End Schedules
SM Entertainment has released an additional statement about Red Velvet Wendy‘s condition, as well as the rest of the members’ schedules regarding the remaining year-end festivals, such as the 2019 KBS Song Festival and the 2019 MBC Gayo Daejejun.
During rehearsals for the 2019 SBS Gayo Daejun, Wendy was involved in a serious accident, injuring herself in a 2.5 meter fall from the stage. Due to the seriousness of her injuries, her collaboration stage was cancelled, and so was Red Velvet’s live stage as a group. On December 26, SM Entertainment gave an additional statement about Red Velvet’s activities.
As Wendy is still receiving treatment for her injuries, she will not participate in future year-end schedules. The other four Red Velvet members will only participate in individual actiivities, such as their planned collaboration stages and MC roles at the KBS Song Festival and the MBC Gayo Daejejun, and will not perform as a group.
Wendy is currently hospitalized, and will focus on treatment until she recovers her health.

Red Velvet recently made their comeback with their third and final album of the year, The ReVe Festival: Finale, and title track “Psycho”. The situation is especially unfortunate, for fans and the girls of Red Velvet alike were excited for the comeback. Reveluvs are pouring in their support and concerned for Wendy’s recovery, and the safety of Red Velvet in general.
Fans are also furious at SBS for what they deem a non-apology. They allegedly apologized to fans for the line-up change, and only relayed a small message to Wendy, “We hope for your speedy recovery”.
“The bigger problem is their attitude on how they settled the accident. After the accident, SBS apologized to the viewers for the change in their line-up. All they said to Wendy was “hope for your speedy recovery.”
