SM Entertainment confirms EXO’s D.O. as lead role for new web drama
EXO‘s D.O. will be making his comeback to the drama department in a brand new web drama produced by the same movie director who created, Twenty!
Do Kyung Soo, or more commonly known as D.O. of the boy group EXO, has been confirmed for an upcoming web drama that is possibly scheduled to air at the end of 2016.
On the 19th, SM Entertainment revealed to media outlet Star News that D.O. has been confirmed to take the lead role in director Lee Byung Hun‘s newest web series, which has yet to receive a working title. Although the production for the web drama has not yet begun, a full synopsis and script for the show has already been created.
Director Lee Byung Hun, who should not be mistaken for actor Lee Byung Hun, had recently risen to fame after producing the successful comedy youth film, Twenty, featuring model-actor Kim Woo Bin, 2PM‘s Junho, and actor Kang Ha Neul. Due to the director’s reputation in creating fun movies that tend to focus on the genre of “college friendship and love”, many netizens have been expressing their anticipation for a similar series.
In this new web drama, D.O. will indeed be playing the role of a college student who majors in filmmaking. Though the character has a peculiar personality, when it comes to film, he is the most passionate in what he does than anybody else.
Official production is set to begin as soon as a female lead is confirmed and after the EXO member has completed filming for his upcoming movie, With God.
Until now, D.O. has starred in numerous acting roles movies such as Cart, Pure Love, Hyung, and the upcoming With God, and dramas such as It’s Okay, It’s Love and I Remember You.
