Long-time Trainee To Finally Debut In New SM Idol Group

Fans are happy for him.

SM Entertainment and TV Chosun are joining forces to debut a trot idol group targeting the global market.

On August 13, the two companies held a contract signing ceremony for the trot idol project T-5 at the SM Entertainment building.

The two companies discussed content production for the group and what they planned for the future.

They revealed that the trot idol group will consist of five members, including trainees, actors, and trot singers.

Next month, they will also air a show program in Korea and Japan through TV Chosun and reveal the group’s debut process.

Taking a look at the members, they include Han Tae I, Im Chapyung, Jung Yoonjae, Seo Woohyuk, and Shohei.

However, one member stood out to fans the most. Shohei, one of the longest-serving SM trainees was on the list.

Fans were happy that he was finally able to have a chance to debut.

TV Chosun’s vice president, Bang Jeong Oh, stated, “This challenge has never been done before, and we expect it to be the start of a genre that will expand beyond Korea.”

KMR’s CEO Lee Seong Soo also hopes to “present new and innovative music” through this new group.
