MBC’s Idol Star Athletics Championship has been a staple of K-Pop for years, but this year, the COVID-19 pandemic led to its sad postponement. Thankfully, it’s been replaced with something just as fun—and even cuter: the Idol Star Dog Championships.

The Chuseok special won’t air for another few weeks, but you can get a sneak peek from today’s recording right here!

Youngjae (GOT7)

GOT7’s Youngjae is participating in the Idol Star Dog Championships with his Maltese, Coco.

Back in May, Youngjae released a clothing line in collaboration with his beloved pooch named Ars x Coco.

Moonbyul (MAMAMOO)

MAMAMOO’s Moonbyul is participating in the Idol Star Dog Championships with her corgis, Daebak, Haengwoon, and Keongang.

Daebak is something of a star himself, featuring in the teaser of Moonbyul’s solo song, “Selfish”.

Heejin (LOONA)

LOONA’s Heejin is participating in the Idol Star Dog Championships with her dog, Tori.

Heejin’s family also has two more dogs with similar names: Nori and Bori.

Choerry (LOONA)

Fellow member Choerry is participating in the Idol Star Dog Championships with her spitz, Lucky.

Choerry finally revealed Lucky (also known as Haengunie) to fans back in July, and everyone was shocked at how cute the pooch is.

Shuhua ((G)I-DLE)

(G)I-DLE’s Shuhua is participating in the Idol Star Dog Championships with her miniature poodle, Haku.

(G)I-DLE adopted Haku and fellow puppy Mata in January 2019; sadly, Shuhua’s name suggestions of “Pudding” and “Chocolate” were turned down by the members.

Soobin (Cosmic Girls)

Cosmic Girls’s Soojin is participating in the Idol Star Dog Championships with her Korean Jindo, Lucky.

Perhaps Soobin and Choerry will bond at the tournament over their dogs’ shared names.

Jaehyun (Golden Child)

Golden Child’s Jaehyun is participating in the Idol Star Dog Championships with his Bichon Frise, Bonggu.

Jaehyun once said that he and Bonggu are very similar to each other because they’re both round with chubby cheeks.

Bomin (Golden Child)

Golden Child’s Bomin is participating in the Idol Star Dog Championships with his miniature poodle, Joy.

Coincidentally, Bomin’s pooch shares a name with one of the show’s hosts—Red Velvet’s Joy.

Yubin

Soloist and former Wonder Girls member Yubin is participating in the Idol Star Dog Championships with her Shiba Inu, Kongbin.

Yubin adopted Kongbin in July 2018, and she’s grown so much in the last two years.

Jisoo (Lovelyz)

Lovelyz’s Jisoo is participating in the Idol Star Dog Championships with her chihuahua, Rocket.

When Jisoo adopted Rocket, he was very tiny and unwell. These days, however, he’s healthier than ever.

Wooseok (UP10TION)

Last but not least, UP10TION’s Wooseok (who previously debuted in X1) is participating in the Idol Star Dog Championships with his Pomeranian, Ddadda.
