“SNL Korea” Under Fire For Mocking LE SSERAFIM And ZEROBASEONE’s Kim Ji woong
In the latest episode of SNL Korea, actor Kim Sung Kyun was featured as a guest. The episode gained attention with their parody boy group named RICE, which reenacted some of the biggest K-Pop controversies of the past year. Among the sketches was a parody of LE SSERAFIM’s recent Coachella issue, which they also titled “Goa-chella.” Additionally, the show spoofed Huh Yunjin’s introduction to the set, where she notably shouted, “Are you ready to shake some f*cking ass.”

The episode also parodied ZEROBASEONE Kim Jiwoong‘s controversy where he allegedly cursed before a video call with a fan.
The episode’s recap on YouTube has been peppered with criticism in return. Many call out how the show has recently been turning comedic parodies into outright mockery.
- It’s a true comedy how no one found it problematic from filming to broadcast.
- It’s been five months already, and people are still cursing them out more severely than criminals, when they didn’t even commit any crime. Did you guys want to contribute to this mockery of female idols when they receive hate comments just by breathing? Did you guys want to create such low-level programs? LOL.
- You guys are celebrities too, so you guys wouldn’t know well how it feels to receive criticism then be mocked for it.
- No, but those celebrities that are on the show, are they allowed to openly mock idols when they are in the same industry? You never know how things will turn out. And if you guys have similar jobs, you would know well how hurtful it is to be on the receiving end of so much hate. I’ll never be able to pity them now if they ever receive hate and mockery in the future, knowing how they participated in this.
- Enough is enough, please. LOL, you guys don’t even touch the criminals, but seems like you’re targetting female idols because they are easy targets? The people who find this funny and the writers of this are just SO amazingly smart.
