The FIFA Puskás Award is given to the player who scored the most aesthetic or the “most beautiful” goal of the year. This year’s award goes to Son Heung Min after his incredible solo goal against Burnley in December of 2019.
Son Heung Min winning this year’s FIFA Puskás Award marks a moment in history as he becomes the first ever South Korean soccer player to win this prestigious award. The Tottenham Hotspur player is only the second Asian player in history to receive this award. Some notable soccer players who have received this coveted award in previous years are Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.
