The Hong Kong-bound flight, BX391, was preparing for takeoff at the apron of Gimhae Airport when a fire broke out in the tail section. According to reports, all 176 people on board, including 169 passengers and seven crew members, were able to escape through emergency means. Though some of them were reportedly injured, none of the injuries were fatal.
The fire department received a report of the fire at around 10:26 pm KST, and the airport firefighting team was dispatched immediately. They arrived at the scene eight minutes later and began to extinguish the fire. Four minutes later, at 10:38 pm, the fire department issued a Level 1 response, delaying more firefighting forces from nearby.
According to a fire official, despite all people on board evacuating, a search of the plane is underway just in case.
