Korea’s First Space Blockbuster “Space Sweepers” Will Be Releasing Soon Exclusively On Netflix
Thanks to a trailer released on YouTube by Netflix Korea just yesterday, fans have finally been given a release date for Space Sweepers.
The film stars Song Joong Ki, Kim Tae Ri, Jin Seon Kyu, Yoo Hae Jin, Richard Armitage, and more, and is being regarded as the first Korean space blockbuster. It is set in the year 2092 and follows the crew of a space junk collector ship called Victory. When they discover a robot named Dorothy that happens to be able to destroy the world, they get involved in a risky business deal.
The movie’s release has seen many changes due to COVID-19 and has been pushed back around three times. Many were unsure of its success due to the fact that theaters would not be open, and even if they were, not many people would go.
Back in November 2020, it was announced that the film will release exclusively on Netflix due to those concerns. Hopefully, this will help in the film’s success and will be a landmark in Korean cinema history
The confirmed worldwide date of release is February 5!
