Eagle-Eyed “Squid Game 2” Viewers Spot Unexpected Crew Member In Scene
Spoiler Alert
Netflix‘s hit Korean thriller series Squid Game returned for a second season on December 26, 2024. Only a day after its release (in US time), the show ranked #1 in all 93 countries where Netflix is available.
Despite being in the making for three years, some viewers were concerned about it being rushed. Sure enough, eagle-eyed viewers found a small blunder when watching Episode 7.
During the intense scene where the players and guards have a shootout, a camera operator was spotted at the 22:39 mark. The clip went viral, with over 9.3M views on X (formerly Twitter) at the time of writing, with many netizens reacting.

Some netizens joked that the camera operator had “one job” and he would probably be losing it after this clip went viral.
Bro is definitely losing his job after that one 😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/CFMIeFCWG6

Yet, many blamed the editor. Some suspect the editor was either tired or underpaid, so they didn’t care.
Tired Editor detected. He / she must be exhausted during the shift. Terribly sorry for that.

They definitely chickened out on the editors budget pic.twitter.com/J9Y0pkN2tR

I thought I saw that, but I was so engaged in the story I didn’t even bother to rewind. Those type of gaffes are common in a lot of movies and TV shows. But as far as whose fault it is, it’s the editors’.

They rushed the release so it was out before 2025.
There is an article about the rush somewhere but nothing on this. It happened in Editing so it’s their fault. Not the camera guys fault.— In2ThinAir (@In2ThinAir) January 6, 2025
Despite a show’s acclaim and large budget, small mistakes such as these are not uncommon. Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey are both famous examples of shows in which personal items, such as craft service drinks, made their way into an episode despite not fitting the aesthetic.
Ha! It’s like the craft service coffee cup in an episode of Game of Thrones pic.twitter.com/x3W7FpW7kJ

On the other hand, Squid Game fans can look past this mistake as the camera operator was part of the crew of the show. Squid Game is a show within a show.
Ummm… no, he was a part of the camera crew for the game… pic.twitter.com/xk5nc58FvG

He was actually part of the scene he just knows the camera man never dies

Honestly it could be chalked up to the games needing cameras to know how the contestants are performing anyway? I don’t mind it that much.

Still, Netflix might delete this frame since the clip went viral.
