“Squid Game” Actors Lee Jung Jae And Jung Ho Yeon Had The Most Priceless Reactions To Their SAG Awards Wins
Early this year, the cast of Netflix‘s hit K-Drama Squid Game scored four nominations at the 28th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAGA). The big day finally arrived, and they snagged three of them!
Squid Game took home the award for “Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series,” while Lee Jung Jae was named the best “Male Actor in a Drama Series,” and Jung Ho Yeon won best “Female Actor in a Drama Series.”
Check out their reactions below.
Lee Jung Jae
Lee Jung Jae, who played Song Gi Hun in the K-Drama, went up against big names for “Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series,” namely Brian Cox (Succession), Kieran Culkin (Succession), Jeremy Strong (Succession), and Billy Crudup (The Morning Show).
He quickly walked up the stage to receive his award. As he held it in his hand, he couldn’t help but laugh as he felt too excited and overwhelmed for words!
He went on to thank his fellow cast members, the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and the fans of Squid Game for their support.
The Squid Game cast and audience members were evidently proud of him, clapping their hands and flashing large heart poses.
Jung Ho Yeon
The competition for “Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series” was just as steep as its male counterpart. Jung Ho Yeon faced off against Jennifer Aniston (The Morning Show), Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale), Sarah Snook (Succession), and Reese Witherspoon (The Morning Show).
Ultimately, the “Kang Sae Byeok” actress came out on top, and she couldn’t believe it!
She was on the verge of tearing up…
…but she quickly composed herself and expressed her shock and gratitude for winning.
Congratulations to the two! Check out their touching winning speeches in the article below.
