“Squid Game” Director Confirms Official Release Date For Season Two
The long-awaited release date for the second season of Netflix’s Squid Game has finally been revealed!
According to Netflix, director Hwang Dong Hyuk revealed that season two will drop on December 26. He also added that season three will return in 2025!
Director Hwang’s letter began with a simple yet impactful phrase.
“The real game begins.
It’s already been three years since season one received so much love and had so many unbelievable things happen. I am so thrilled to write this letter to tell you the news of season two and the filming of season three. I remember feeling like it was so unreal as I went to the first filming site for season two and couldn’t believe I was back in the world of Squid game.
I am curious how all of you feel about greeting the Squid Game world after three years.
At the end of season one, Sung Ki Hoon returns to the game to seek revenge. I wonder if he will succeed. The frontmen he will meet this time will be a tough one once again. The fierce competition will be shown through season two and continue in season three next year. As I was planning the new Squid Game journey, I was able to come up with new ideas, and am happy that I can bring it to its end with season three. I will work hard to bring the best to everyone. I hope you all are waiting with excitement. Thank you always and see you all soon.”

In season one, Sung Ki Hoon (Lee Jung Jae) hinted that he would return for revenge. Fans worldwide are curious to see if he will succeed with his revenge.
The cast for season two includes Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Jun, and Gong Yoo. New cast members have also been confirmed, including Im Si Wan, Kang Haneul, Park Gyu Young, and more.
The second season of the series will be released on December 26 on Netflix.
