“Squid Game” Director Reveals He Almost Considered Someone Else For The Role Of Thanos
In a recent interview with Netflix’s Squid Game director Hwang Dong Hyeok, he revealed the back story of how T.O.P was cast for the role of Thanos.
The character of Choi Su Bong, who appears as Thanos, was not created to cast Choi Seung Hyun. I wanted to showcase the problems young people face, such as Bitcoin and drugs.

Hwang admitted that he had a hard time finding a young person who could realistically play Thanos.
Choi Seung Hyun was on the list, but I wondered if he would take on a role that was literally making fun of him. Later, I received an answer saying he would try it, and I saw his potential in the audition, which made him the best fit for the role.
