“Squid Game” Director Urges Viewers To Tune In For Season Three
With the recent premiere of Netflix’s Squid Game 2, many are already anticipating the release date for season three.
After season two’s release on December 26, it ranked first in 92 countries on December 27. On December 28, it hit number one in New Zealand, and the show achieved first place in all Netflix-accessible countries.
This show garnered much popularity as it explored the essence of human “desire,” “survival,” and “morality,” evoking deep sympathy from viewers around the world. As a result, the show has become a cultural phenomenon that goes beyond simple entertainment.
Although the show released harsh and mixed reviews after its release, the viewership ratings have continued to increase.
In a recent interview with the director, Hwang Dong Hyeok, he revealed that seasons two and three were originally one long story.
I planned on writing it over 8-9 episodes, but after finishing it, it went over ten episodes. I felt it was too long to fit into one season.

He also revealed when season three was scheduled to be released.
We separated the seasons to give it a break and a proper ending. Season three is scheduled to be released next summer or fall.

Director Kwang also urged viewers to watch the show as season three would be more intense.
Actor Choi Gwi Hwa also revealed that “the real game starts in season three,” expressing confidence in the next season.
