“Squid Game” Breaks Korean Drama Record On Netflix, Beating “Sweet Home”
It was recently announced that new Netflix launch, Squid Game, has managed to break the record for Korean dramas as scored on Netflix, within three days of launch.
The show received an overall score of 562, beating out Sweet Home, who had previously peaked at 428 points during its run. It even managed to beat Money Heist, a longstanding popular Netflix show. Squid Game is currently the highest scored K-Drama on Netflix.
Squid Game stars famous actors including Park Hae Soo and Lee Jung Jae, known for their acting skills, as well as features cameos by Gong Yoo and Lee Byung Hun. The show is about a group of candidates who participate in children’ sgames to win a huge sum of prize money. Unfortunately, stakes are high as losing the games can result in death. An undercover cop played by Wi Ha Joon infiltrates the games to seek his long-lost brother while Lee Jung Jae’s character seeks the reason for the games.
