The Seoul Gangnam Police Station has confirmed that they are investigating a complaint filed against the actor and Park In Kyu, former CEO of WYSIWYG Studios, under the Specific Economic Crimes Act. The case has reportedly been under investigation since June.

The complaint was lodged by Kim Dong Rae, CEO of the drama production company RaemongRaein. Kim claims that Lee and Park misled him into believing that their involvement as major shareholders would greatly benefit his company’s growth. Acting on this belief, Kim transferred his shares to them. However, he now alleges that after acquiring the shares, Lee and Park attempted to push him out of the company’s management.

Kim further contends that despite an agreement for joint management, which was supposedly documented in their contract, Lee and Park did not honor this promise. Instead, he accuses them of focusing solely on acquiring another listed company, Chorokbaem Media, using 20 billion won in cash from RaemongRaein. According to Kim, this acquisition was prioritized over the growth of his own company, which had been the original intention.

In response to these accusations, Lee Jung Jae has countersued Kim for making false accusations and fraud. Lee’s legal team maintains that the contract in question explicitly stated that it was a deal involving the transfer of management rights, which they argue refutes Kim’s claims.

The investigation is ongoing, with both Lee and Park expected to be questioned by the police soon. The case has attracted significant attention due to Lee Jung Jae’s high profile in the entertainment industry.
