For years, ARMYs have been suspicious that V would join the Squid Game cast after he rocked a masked guard cosplay during BTS’s PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE concerts in Los Angeles, California. Additionally, he and lead actor Lee Jung Jae have occasionally hung out.

That’s not the only Squid Game actor V has publicly hung out with. V is also known to be friends with ZE:A‘s Im Siwan (also known as Yim Si Wan), who joined the Season 2 cast of Squid Game.

Now, ARMYs’ suspicions are activated even more after Netflix “accidentally” revealed June 27, 2025, as Squid Game 3‘s release date in a now-edited teaser posted to YouTube. ARMYs noted that V’s most recent Instagram post caption was mysteriously “27 v2.” V’s military service discharge is expected to be June 10 this year, perfectly timing with the upcoming season’s alleged release date.

Now, lead actor (and V’s friend) Lee Jung Jae and fellow Squid Game actor Wi Ha Joon (also romanized as Wi Ha Jun) have responded to rumors of V joining the cast. BuzzFeed interviewed the actors, asking about the speculations, to which they both laughed and gave no comment.

Lee Jung Jae: I can’t say anything about that.

Wi Ha Joon: No comment.

While both actors laughed off the question, giving no official confirmation, ARMYs believe their “lack of response” is better than a rejection.
