A talented crew, including producer Starr Chen, made the legendary stage possible. He previously won “Best Producer of the Year” at 2019 MAMA.
Now, Starr Chen has revealed a behind-the-scenes story of working for BLACKPINK.
According to Chen, BLACKPINK’s director contacted him, asking if he would be interested in making music for BLACKPINK’s Coachella 2023 performance. He revealed that he is actually a fan of the group, so he was eager to jump at the opportunity!
At that time, their director suddenly contacted me…and asked if I was interested in making the music for BLACKPINK’s Coachella performance.

But the director was inquiring about his price. Chen claimed that he allegedly asked for a fan interaction instead of money.
Then they asked how much I charge…I responded by saying I won’t charge any $$ this time. I just want my idols to give me an autograph, take a photo with me, and give me a hug.

Well, they allegedly didn’t take Chen up on his offer! Instead, according to him, they asked for his rate again.
