As one of the mentors, Yoon has been subjected to hate comments following a recent episode.

In the recent episode, the groups were performing in front of some of the mentors. After one of the group’s performances, the rest of the contestants started clapping for the team.

Yoon then looked at the contestants in the audience before saying, “Why are you applauding?” Fellow mentor Choi Young Jun also questioned the actions, adding, “Is this a club? Kids, are you in a club?”

The judges then went on to share their disappointment about the contestants’ performances.

When the clip was shared online, it gained a lot of criticism from fans, especially Yoon’s comment about the contestants clapping, as many thought it was too harsh.

After the episode, Yoon’s recent Instagram post was hit with hate comments.

The comments were extremely hateful with some sharing “disappointment,” while others questioned Yoon’s credentials to be judging the contestants.

Many fans also defended the idol in the comments, and netizens on social media hit back at the toxic and awful messages Yoon was receiving, also pointing out the real context as many sent the hate based on the small snippet that went viral.

Starlight Boys has been hit with a wave of controversies since it started airing.
