Stray Kids Become The Only 4th Generation Group To Receive This Exclusive Award From Korea’s Prime Minister
Stray Kids just added another major accomplishment to their massive list of achievements!
When speaking about fourth-generation groups, Stray Kids are one that comes to mind. The group’s outstanding popularity have led them to perform at places like Lollapalooza Paris 2023 and the 2023 VMAs, in addition to several honors, including an award from the latter.

With the release of their most recent album, ★★★★★ (5-STAR) Stray Kids became the first group to record over five million preorders, in addition to hitting over 2.3 million in first days sales, an accomplishment hit by only BTS and SEVENTEEN previously.
Now, the group have received an award that only six other K-Pop groups have received in history!
Stray Kids were selected as one of the eight recipients of the Prime Minister’s Commendation for the 2023 Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards.
The Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards is an annual program held by the South Korean government to honor groups and individuals who have contributed significantly to and spread Korean culture. There are four possible awards: Order of Cultural Merit, Presidential Commendation, Prime Minister’s Commendation, and Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Commendation.
Girls’ Generation, 2NE1, JYJ, SHINee, EXO, and most recently, SEVENTEEN are the only other groups in history to receive this award.
