Stray Kids leader Bang Chan recently opened up in an emotional exchange with fans following a misunderstanding that led to online fights within the fandom. What began as a simple moment of appreciation turned into a situation that left the idol feeling hurt, frustrated, and apologetic.

 

During a recent concert in Brazil, Bang Chan shared a heartfelt message, calling the country “another home.” However, the phrase was misunderstood as “second home,” leading to confusion and tension among fans.

Some STAYs (Stray Kids’ fandom name) began interpreting the remark as favoritism, suggesting Bang Chan loved one country more than another. What followed were heated debates across social media, with some fans further misunderstanding his words.

In response, Bang Chan took to a private messaging platform to clarify his words and express his emotions.

Bang Chan: “I said this was like ‘another home’…”

Bang Chan: “I really wish STAYs wouldn’t fight among themselves…”

Bang Chan: “I said, ‘another home’…”

Bang Chan: “I really wish STAYs would stop fighting with each other…”

Bang Chan: “At this point, it feels like no matter what I say, it just causes more problems.”

Bang Chan: “At this point, whatever comes out of my mouth just becomes problematic.”

Bang Chan: “I don’t even want to say anything anymore…”

Bang Chan: “I’m actually scared to say anything now…”

Bang Chan: “Why are things like this on such a good day?”

The artist also touched on the pressure he feels trying to show equal love to fans around the world.

Bang Chan: “Why are they like this on a great day?”

Bang Chan: “Jealousy?”

Bang Chan: “Understandable, yes.”

Bang Chan: “I feel like this is the hardest thing to do, yeah? Sharing love equally to all STAYs around the world is definitely something I want to accomplish.”

Bang Chan: “But I think that’s the thing that I’m terrible at so I’d like to apologise. Sorry for not being able to share love equally… I feel like I’m only making fights… It’s all my fault I guess”

Despite his clear efforts, Bang Chan blamed himself for the situation. He also vowed to “try his best” in future instances.

Bang Chan: “I’ll try harder!”

Bang Chan: “That’s all it takes.”

Bang Chan: “STAYs didn’t do anything wrong.”

Bang Chan: “Channie will work really hard!!!”

Bang Chan: “I’ll do better!”

Bang Chan: “Yeah, that’s all that needs to be done.”

Bang Chan: “STAYs aren’t the ones that are in the wrong”

Bang Chan: “Channie will try his best!!!”

Fans have since rallied behind him, urging others to stop creating division and to focus instead on the support and love Bang Chan always shows. However, many are now worried that this incident may cause him to be more cautious or reserved in the future.
