Stray Kids Becomes The Only K-Pop Artist Besides BTS And SEVENTEEN To Achieve A Huge Album Sales Record
On June 2, Stray Kids released their 3rd and highly anticipated full-length studio album, ★★★★★ (5-STAR), which has a total of 12 songs including the title track “S-Class”.
Even before the album dropped, the group had already been breaking records in terms of sales numbers, with ★★★★★ (5-STAR) becoming the newest K-Pop album to break the record for most pre-sale orders in history. In fact, it made a whopping over 5.13 million pre-sales prior to its release, becoming the only K-Pop album to surpass the five million pre-order sales mark.
And now that the album has been released, it has once again joined the ranks of other legendary albums when it comes to sales numbers.
According to Hanteo, ★★★★★ (5-STAR) reached an incredible 2,392,666 physical copies sold on its first day of release. Only BTS and SEVENTEEN have also reached this number of first-day sales, with the latter holding the record after FML made 4.00 million first-day physical sales earlier this year.

The number of sales that ★★★★★ (5-STAR) makes in the coming days is only going to bring that impressive number up even higher, and it’s hard to say where it will land in terms of best-selling K-Pop album ever. But it’s well on its way to being at the top!
What’s arguably even more impressive is that they surpassed the sales of their last album, MAXIDENT, by an incredible amount. It had a first-week sales number of 2.1 million copies sold, which is already a huge number.
Lastly, these sales have also led to Stray Kids surpassing a total of nine million albums sold according to Hanteo, making them the fifth K-Pop artist to reach this number!
Congratulations to Stray Kids!
