Stray Kids Dominates Tower Records’ Mid-Year Rankings In Every Category
Stray Kids have proven their incredible power in Japan by completely dominating Tower Records‘ mid-year rankings.
On July 14, Japan’s leading record shop Tower Records revealed their mid-year rankings of the best-selling albums at their stores in 2020 so far. Among the 3 different categories featuring K-Pop artists and albums, Stray Kids not only snagged spots in the top 10 on each of them but they took the top spot on the list of the best-selling albums!
Stray Kids’ first best album, SKZ2020, came in at no. 1 on Tower Records’ list of the Top 10 Best-Selling Japanese Album By Korean Artists. While already an incredibly meaningful achievement, it’s made even more so by the fact that SKZ2020 is Stray Kids’ debut Japanese album and was released on March 18, partway through the ranking timeframe.
In addition to taking no. 1 in the Japanese albums category, they also quickly took a spot no. 10 on in the Top 10 Best-Selling K-Pop Albums with their first full album GO生 (GO Live): Stray Kids Vol.1 which was released on June 17!
Rounding out their domination on Tower Records’ rankings, Stray Kids snagged a position at no. 3 on the Top 10 K-Pop Singles list with their first Japanese single TOP – Japanese Ver. – which was released on June 3.
Although Stray Kids may have just made their Japanese debut this year, with top spots in all 3 categories of Tower Records’ ranking they’ve already proven they are a serious force!
Congratulations Stray Kids!
