Stray Kids’ Felix The Subject Of Misleading Allegations After UNICEF Appointment
Stray Kids Felix‘s recently announced ambassadorship position has sparked debate.
On September 22, Felix was named UNICEF Korea Committee Goodwill Ambassador. According to the organization, he was selected due to his previous donations and service, including his time volunteering in Laos.

With the announcement, Felix stated that he took on the role as he wanted to protect the happiness of all children.
I decided to take on the role of a UNICEF Korea Committee Goodwill Ambassador because I want to protect the pure happiness of all children. I am grateful for the love I’ve received from fans. With that love as my strength, I want to give my all in sharing love with children.

However, the announcement has sparked some debate amongst netizens.
While Felix has shown support for many in need around the world, some called out the idol for his supposed lack of support shown for the ongoing human rights violations occurring in Palestine. Since the additional focus placed on what is happening in the Gaza Strip began, many have called for a ceasefire as thousands of innocent Palestinians have been killed in bombings and attacks by Israeli forces.
Some felt Felix did not “deserve” the position due to his alleged lack of outward support or have since requested that he make a statement following his appointment.

On the other hand, many have pointed out UNICEF helps all children worldwide, including those in Palestine. Additionally, many say even without a direct show of support, Felix has managed increase awareness, leading to fans donating.

Additionally, Felix (and Stray Kids as a whole) has donated to Save The Children, an organization that has been providing support to Palestinian children for decades. Felix’s level of support for this organization has even earned him a membership in Save The Children’s honor club.
While fans acknowledge that others can ask Felix to speak up, many also do no want his charitable actions to be disregarded.
