Stray Kids Star’s Tattoo Triggers Immediate Action From JYP Entertainment

This isn’t the first time he’s has faced restrictions around his tattoos.

Stray KidsHan showed off his major chest tattoo this week, but while fans were buzzing to see his ink, JYP Entertainment had a different reaction.

When Han revealed the large tattoo that runs down his ribs to fans at the group’s Show! Music Core fan meeting on Saturday, photos and videos from the event went viral immediately.

While the idol is known to have several tattoos, they’re typically kept hidden from fans.

Earlier this year, Han revealed that the tattoo in question reads ‘Resplendent Life.’ When asked whether he got permission from JYP Entertainment for such a large tattoo, Han told fans that he did get approval for the design itself, but not for the size.

Fan: “I’m really curious about this. For the tattoos you have now, did you get permission from the company first to do them? Or did you get the tattoo first and get scolded after??????????”

Stray Kids’ Han: “Actually, I said I’d make it small, but while working on the draft it unavoidably ended up getting bigger. So I did get permission but I did get scolded too hah, that’s me.”

Back in February, during the group’s SKZ 5’Clock fan meeting in Seoul, Han told fans that staff instructed him not to remove his shirt during his cover of Bang Chan’s “Railway” because his tattoos would be visible.

As such, many assumed his willingness to display the tattoo this week meant that JYP Entertainment had finally relaxed its stance.

However, that wasn’t the case. Shortly after the fan meeting, Han took to Bubble to clarify that he had, in fact, been chastised again.

I got scolded right away after I showed my tattoo earlier.

I’m covering it up tight again, hah.

Now, fans are slamming the company for what they believe is excessively controlling behavior. While some have defended JYP Entertainment’s caution given that tattoos remain taboo among much of the Korean public, others have argued that the restriction is “going too far.”

Others, meanwhile, believe the incident reflects a larger pattern of behavior from the company, criticizing how they’ve managed Han’s career overall.

While talking about his tattoos back in June, Han told fans he had no plans to get any more but did not specify whether JYP Entertainment was involved in his decision.
