Stray Kids On The Western Celebrities Who Were Kindest To Them At The “2024 MET Gala”
Stray Kids recently sat down for an interview with Billboard. Bang Chan and Felix in particular gave insight into their historical 2024 MET Gala appearance last May 6.
The latter gave a brief background on their experience, saying that it was “such an honor” for them to make their name and “team color” known.
It was such a huge honor because it was our first time as a team, and to go with Tommy Hilfiger to the MET Gala. Like what Chris [Bang Chan’s birth name] said, it’s such an honor but also a pleasure for us to show what our team color is like. It was incredible.

The members were nervous attending the event given that they “didn’t know anything” about it. They came face to face with big names the moment they entered the venue.
Because we didn’t know anything about MET Gala! So, we went in, and then as soon as we got in, we walked up the stairs, and then there was Anna Wintour, Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez and Chris Hemsworth.

Luckily, they were met with kind people such as Marvel actor Chris Hemsworth who was one of the first to meet Stray Kids. He surprised Bang Chan and Felix when he shared that he knew they also hailed from Australia.
So we said ‘Hi,’ and then Chris was like, ‘Oh, I know you guys! You guys are two Australians—aww, come here, boys!’

The Thor actor made headlines in the K-Pop world for lifting the members off their feet at the MET Gala. Sadly, footage of this event was not shared online but the boys were more than happy to talk about it with their fans.
Bang Chan continued, saying, “He took really great care of us. Baz was there too.”
Jumping off his member’s words, Felix gave a special shoutout to Australian film director Baz Luhrmann who is known for making Moulin Rouge! (2001) and Elvis (2022). He said that they were able to have a “very nice” discussion together.
Baz Luhrmann was there as well. So, we had a nice chat with him. It was very nice, very nice.
— Felix
Finally, they were also able to meet athletes such as Ben Simmons. There were apparently a large number of fellow Australians at this year’s MET Gala.
Ben Simmons, the basketball player, who is actually from and born in Australia, he was there. There were a lot.
