“A Successful Gay!” — LE SSERAFIM’s Sakura Offers Words Of Encouragement To Hong Seok Cheon

LE SSERAFIM’s Sakura is currently starring in a solo variety program, Fearless Kura, created to show her in various situations where she is “fearless.”

Throughout the episodes, she has had several guests from all ends of the entertainment industry, like YouTuber Joo Woo Jae and K-Pop idols from other groups like GOT7‘s Bambam.

In the latest episode, she is joined by celebrity chef Hong Seok Cheon and singer-songwriter Kwon Jin Ah, and the three set out to catch octopi for a meal.

The show starts hilariously, with Hong Seok Cheon not recognizing Sakura, then apologizing after he’s told she’s from HYBE. The chef even gives a shout-out to Jungkook, specifically while dancing.

After digging for clams and octopus, the three head back to shore and spend time chatting on the boat ride. They chat a little about their seafood preferences, and Hong Seok Cheon shares a “sad story” about how his parents will prepare dishes for him whenever he visits.

He finishes by saying that his parents wanted him to study hard and be successful, but in the end, he “became a gay.”

Sakura immediately says, “but you’re successful,” and Kwon Jin Ah mirrors the sentiment as both repeat that he is a “successful top gay.”

Hong Seok Cheon then shares that his mother continually asks when he’s getting married, and Sakura replies, “marriage isn’t all,” to encourage him.

Fans have found the moment both hilarious and sweet, saying Sakura gave comfort in her special “Sakura-like” way.
