The police investigation into Suga’s drunk driving incident has now ended.
On August 7, media outlets reported that BTS‘s Suga is being investigated by the police for operating an electric scooter after drinking.
According to the police, Suga was found on the streets by himself on the night of August 6 after riding the electric scooter after drinking alcohol. Police patrolling nearby helped him and brought him to a nearby police station.
Not long after, Suga released an apology letter to fans on Weverse.
In his apology, he emphasizes that he rode a kickboard and fell in front of his home before the police found him. However, the police clarified that he had operated an electric scooter with a seat and not a kickboard. Suga has since released a second apology in which he refers to his vehicle as an electric scooter.
In Korea, electric scooters abide by the same regulations as cars and can only be rented with a valid license due to safety concerns.
Most recently, JTBC news released CCTV video footage of Suga riding an electric scooter.
In the news footage video, it is captioned, “Suga riding a foldable electric scooter.”
