On January 11-12, SM Entertainment held its 30 year anniversary concert, SMTown Live 2025. Many of the label’s past and present artists performed at the event.

Super Junior was one such group, performing with many members in attendance despite several no longer being under SM Entertainment beyond their involvement in group activities.

This includes Eunhyuk, who, along with Donghae, formed ODE.en for their solo activities and ones as Super Junior D&E.

Under ODE.en, Eunhyuk is set to release his first-ever solo album nearly 20 years after his debut. The album, titled EXPLORER, is a mini-album scheduled to be released on January 27.

The fact that an artist 20 years into a successful career has yet to release a solo album is likely surprising to most, but Eunhyuk’s recent way of advertising his album seems to hint at his own shock.

During their time on stage during SMTOWN’s second night, the group did a chaotic speaking ment after doing a short one the night before.

During this speaking ment, Eunhyuk took the opportunity to talk about his upcoming album, announcing that it was his first in 20 years. After joking around that concert attendees should buy the album as members of SMTOWN’s family, he specifically mentioned that the album was not being released by SM.
