Suzy and Nam Joo Hyuk Reportedly Set To Unite In New Start-Up Company Drama
Suzy and Nam Joo Hyuk will reportedly be uniting in tvN‘s new drama Sandbox, which is about Korea’s “Silicon Valley”.
According to an exclusive report from Ilgan Sports, Suzy and Nam Joo Hyuk will play the lead roles in the drama, which features a woman who has a dream of becoming like Steve Jobs, and a man who unintentionally becomes her first love. The story of the drama will be how they support the idea of starting over again, and growth, and the setting will be South Korea’s Silicon Valley.
Suzy would be playing the role of Seo Dalmi, a girl who majored in theater, but lost out in more than ₩100 million KRW in opportunity cost after she dropped out. Now, she doesn’t even have a part-time job. Seo Dalmi is a character who does have a good social life, wide connections, and good relationships with others. Since she doesn’t want to lose out to her older sister, who is successful, she enters a difficult path by dreaming of becoming like Steve Jobs.
Nam Joo Hyuk would play the role of Nam Dosan, the founder of Samsan Tech. A genius, he was the youngest winner of the Math Olympiad and enjoys coding and crocheting. 15 years later, his family is facing shame and disgrace. He jumped into the start-up world with his friends, but 2 years later, all the investor money has been used up.
The drama will be written by Park Hye Ryun, who worked on Dream High, I Can Hear Your Voice, Pinocchio, and While You Were Sleeping. The Main PD for the drama is Oh Chung Hwang, who directed Doctors, While You Were Sleeping, and Hotel Del Luna.
Representatives from both actors’ agencies have stated that they are currently positively considering the offer for the roles.
The drama is expected to begin airing in May of 2020.
