A new K-Drama’s second lead couple is stealing the show!

JTBC‘s new romantic-comedy K-Drama My Sweet Mobster (also known as Woman Who Plays With), based on the web novel Playful Woman, is well underway. It stars Um Tae Goo (also romanized as Uhm Tae Goo) as Seo Ji Hwan, a mobster-turned-CEO who hires ex-convicts to work at his company. He’s the stoic, no-nonsense type until he meets Go Eun Ha (played by former Secret member Han Sun Hwa, also known as Sunhwa), a kids’ content creator.

Seo Ji-Hwan (Um Tae-Goo) is a former gangster. He quit that life and is now the CEO of a company. He tries to disband gangs and hires gang members, who were released from prison, to help them improve their lives.

Go Eun-Ha (Han Sun-Hwa) runs her own YouTube channel, which is for kids. She is known as Mini Sister. She wants to convey love and happiness to her audience, based on her own childhood memory of a boy in her neighborhood who played with her. The boy was older than her, but he was the only person who played with her. Her YouTube channel isn’t very popular. One day, when she is doing cleaning work as a part-time job, she somehow accidentally hurts Seo Ji-Hwan. She freaks out, but Seo Ji-Hwan seems to know her.

So far, viewers have fallen in love with the leads, as their chemistry is undeniable.

Yet, another couple is capturing viewers’ attention.

Kim Hyun Jin portrays Ji Hwan’s right-hand man and Thirsty Deer General Manager Joo Il Yeong, while Moon Ji In portrays Eun Ha’s best friend, hairdresser Ku Mi Ho.

Since the start, the two have been making eyes at each other. Il Yeong has been seemingly paying Mi Ho visits as he attempts to set up Ji Hwan and Eun Ha. In the meantime, he himself appears to be falling in love with Mi Ho.

In Episode 6, their relationship progressed. Il Yeong went to Mi Ho’s salon, and the two had a little “date,” eating dinner together and conversing.

After leaving the salon, he insisted on treating her to a coffee.

While they continued to walk to a coffee shop, they were chatting when a restaurant owner unexpectedly dumped out a bucket of water, drenching the two.

Flustered, he attempted to ensure she was okay, but it was too late.

We don’t find out what happens immediately after. Later in the episode, we saw Mi Ho at home, struggling to eat her meal, as she apparently had flashbacks to a steamy night with Il Yeong. It cut back and forth, sharing glimpses of their night together, including shots of them undressing each other and kissing.

Yet, some viewers debated whether Il Yeong and Mi Ho’s intimate scene was a fantasy of Mi Ho’s imagination. Some are convinced it really happened.

It panned to the Base Hotel at the end of the scene from when they got drenched. In a scene briefly after that, Eun Ha noticed Il Yeong was missing at breakfast, as usually, the Thirsty Deer team has breakfast together. The others informed her that he’s not often around at this hour as he is busy with “romantic business.” These two moments indicated that the second lead couple has progressed much farther than our lead couple.

At this time, Eun Ha has only drunkenly kissed Ji Hwan and has since claimed she doesn’t remember.

Additionally, Il Yeong and Mi Ho’s steamy scene went viral with 115K+ views at the time of writing.

It’s safe to say netizens were freaking out over this quick development for the second lead couple.

We’re certainly getting Business Proposal flashbacks with this one, as the K-Drama included a steamy scene for the second lead couple ahead of the lead couple! Read more below.
