Kim Soo Hyun’s appearance at the event was uncertain up until a few days ago since he had temporarily suspended his activities following the exposé of his relationship with Kim Sae Ron. As the controversy grew, many brands suspended their schedules with the actor. There were even talks of Kim Soo Hyun facing a hefty penalty of ₩1.32 billion KRW (about $900,000 USD) in case he canceled his appearance at the Taiwan event.

According to reports, the Taiwanese police plan to deploy 50 officers at the event to maintain public order and handle any illegal or disorderly behavior. However, the authorities have stated that the deployment of these officers is a part of general security measures and not necessarily exclusively for Kim Soo Hyun.

The police have also clarified that the organizers have not requested any additional security. However, given the large number of attendees, the fan meeting itself is expected to have a large police presence.

With criticism against Kim Soo Hyun mounting from the Taiwanese media and the general public, many eyes are expected to be on the event to gauge the chances of the actor recovering from this scandal and regaining his public image.
