Amid these allegations gaining traction online, the CEO of Telegram, where these chats are located, has been arrested.

Pavel Durov was arrested on August 24 in Paris in relation to an investigation into online crimes involving the circulation of child abuse images and illegal drug peddling on the app.

On August 28, it was reported that he was released from custody and transferred to court, where he may be charged by the judge present. According to officials, Telegram has often ignored requests from authorities regarding content shared on the app.
