Girl’s Day’s Hyeri And Actor Yoo Seung Ho To Star In K-Drama “Think Of The Moon When The Flower Blooms”, Kang Mina And Byun Woo Seok As Second Leads

An alcohol dealer and a policeman fall in love in the time of prohibition.

Previously, it was confirmed that Yoo Seung Ho and Girl’s Day‘s Hyeri had been cast as the leads for the upcoming K-Drama, Think Of The Moon When The Flower Blooms (working title). According to Kukmin Today, the two had been confirmed as the leads and would be entering filming.

The drama is said to be set in the Prohibition Era, about 4 youths who break the rules and fall in love. A touching coming-of-age drama, it is written as a fusion sageuk. It will discuss the matter of alcohol in times of Prohibition, with the main character being a policeman who governs the alcohol ban amongst civilians, and a woman who sneaks alcohol.

Yoo Seung Ho will play the strict yet capable policeman, Nam Young. He is as handsome as a statue, but also upright and stiff. Hyeri will play a poor commoner, Kang Ro Seo, who smuggles alcohol for sale in order to pay back a debt. Although she looks like a rich girl, she will work hard at anything for money. As her family is poor, they pin their hopes on Ro Seo’s older brother. Ro Seo takes care of the household to support her brother.

It has further been announced that Kang Mina (formerly of Gugudan) and Byun Woo Seok (Record of Youth) have joined the cast as the second leads. Byun Woo Seok will play Lee Pyo, a rebellious young crown prince. Although he was not always in contention for the thrown, he has now become first in line. Unfortunately, alcohol becomes his closest friend.

Kang Mina will play the only child of a rich family, Han Ae Jin. She’s written as Joseon’s straight shooter gal, who is unafraid to speak her mind and go for what (or whom!) she wants. She may be a little spoilt, having grown up in a rich family, but is lovable nonetheless.

It is set to air in the later half of the year on KBS2 TV.
