Netizens were shocked by BLACKPINK Jisoo‘s first-day sales for her debut solo album ME.

On March 31, YG Entertainment announced the long-awaited news that Jisoo’s solo album ME had been released.

Along with the album, YG Entertainment also released an incredibly gorgeous music video for Jisoo’s lead single, “FLOWER.” In the video, Jisoo dazzled in Dior while dancing against cinematic backdrops.

 

With all the anticipation leading up to the album’s release, it is no secret that Jisoo is expected to do major numbers on its release day, but no one could’ve imagined just how big her numbers would be.

On March 31, at 4:21 PM (KST), a Twitter account revealed that Jisoo’s ME had already sold over 850K albums on its first day of release. What’s more, the Twitter account revealed that sales were still being counted.

International BLACKPINK fans celebrated the tremendous numbers, with many anticipating that the global star would embark on a million sales.

Korean netizens were also shocked by the incredible numbers. Many noted how difficult it was for a solo artist to achieve these numbers and stated this was proof that BLACKPINK would go down in history as one of K-Pop’s biggest groups ever.
