Top Trot Singer Kim Ho Joong Admits To Drunk Driving After 5 Days Of Denials

He has changed course and admitted to drunk driving.

One of Korea’s top trot singers, Kim Ho Joong, has retracted all of his denials and admitted to drunk driving.

In a statement shared by his agency, Think Entertainment, they confirmed Kim Ho Joong was the drunk driver and also apologized for lying in their previous four days of statements.

We would like to bow our heads in apology for the controversy surrounding our artist Kim Ho Joong, as well as for causing more controversy due to our poor judgment. From our first statement up until now, we have been trying to cover up the situation. We apologize for not acting truthfully.

Kim Ho Joong voluntarily went to the police and admitted the truth, including his drunk driving, and will faithfully participate in the police investigation. Finally, we made an irreversible mistake under the misconception that we have to protect our artist. We would like to apologize again.

Back on May 14, CCTV video was released showing a car claimed to be Kim Ho Joong’s crashing into a taxi and fleeing the scene. He initially denied the claims it was him, and his CEO took the blame instead. However, he was caught lying to the police and was put under investigation, with his house and agency being raided by the police for any potential evidence. He continued to hold concerts even right after his controversy was revealed to the public. His concert in Gimhae scheduled for June 1 and 2 has since been cancelled.
