TripleS Members’ Elite Academic Backgrounds Leave Netizens Bamboozled
The fifth-generation girl group TripleS has drawn quite the attention recently, thanks to some of the members’ prestigious academic background.
A few days ago, TripleS members Kim Yooyeon and JiYeon appeared in a reel with students from Yonsei University, Korea’s top educational institution, for a dance challenge. This unusual collaboration triggered some interest in the members’ own educational backgrounds among netizens.

As it turns out, both the members belong to prestigious schools themselves. Yooyeon is from Ewha University and is said to be popular there, known as the “Goddess of Ewha University.”
JiYeon, on the other hand, attended Sunhwa Arts Middle School and Sunhwa Arts High School. She is now a student at Hanyang University and has also attended the Universal Ballet Academy!
Apart from these two members, Lee Jiwoo, Xinyu, and Mayu also come from elite academic backgrounds. Lee, the 19-year-old vocalist of TripleS, graduated from the esteemed Dongguk University High School.
Xinyu, who is a Chinese member, attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston!
And finally, Mayu is from Meiji University, one of the top universities in Japan.
Netizens who are unfamiliar with TripleS were left with their jaws agape at such a brilliant lineup of members and commended each of them for their hard work.
- “They have it all.”
- “They must have studied hard, too. Amazing.”
- “I like TripleS TT. I like it even more that girls like those have gathered together to work hard as idols.”
- “This is much better than showing off golden spoons, though?”
- “Well, it’s not like they’re from a wealthy family or something, and it’s not like they studied for it themselves and went to that university, right?”
- “Wow. Cool!”
- “Wow, their backgrounds are crazy.”
- “This is much better than bragging about golden spoons or ambassadorships.”
- “Wow. Good going, TripleS.”
