tripleS’ Kim Yooyeon Shocks With Her Surprising Salary
tripleS is a girl group that consists of 24 members. The large amount of members resulted in a huge production cost for the company! It was announced on Omniscient Interfering Point Of View that it cost over ₩10.0 billion KRW (about $7.20 million USD) to debut the members.
On the same show, Kim Yooyeon shared that she received her first pay around the start of 2023. Kim Yooyeon is arguably the most popular member, and has many solo activities appearing on various variety shows. She was also one of the first few to be revealed to the public.
Yooyeon revealed that she was paid around the same as a management executive’s average salary at a conglomerate. To reach such a rank, most would have to have around 10 years of work experience. A quick search on Korean search engines show that the average pay at such a high ranking position was around ₩85.0 million KRW (about $61,200 USD) to ₩95.0 million KRW (about $68,400 USD).
Yooyeon shared that she bought the other members meat with the money. It is rare for a rookie girl group to be paid so early into debut, but tripleS’ popularity makes them a rare case. The other members have also indicated having been paid by the company.
