“Twenty Five, Twenty One” Choi Min Young Will Play The Male Lead In Netflix’s Spinoff Of “To All The Boys” — Here’s All We Know
Where we left off in Netflix‘s To All The Boys: Always and Forever, Lara Jean’s younger sister Kitty met a boy in Korea named Dae.
Dae only appeared for a few seconds, helping the Covey family snap a quick photo. Although viewers knew that Kitty and he stayed in touch, that was the last we heard of him in the trilogy and the film.
Now, in 2022, Netflix has announced a spinoff for Kitty. XO, Kitty, will be a series instead of a film. Starring Anna Cathcart, Anna returns in her role as Kitty Song Covey. In the upcoming series, Kitty decides to study abroad in South Korea to reunite with Dae.
While actor Jeon Ho Young played Dae in the original film…
…he will be replaced by Choi Min Young for the series. Fans of Twenty Five, Twenty One might recognize him as Baek Yi Jin’s younger brother!
According to Anna Cathcart’s Instagram, the crew made Seoul their home in March and will be staying for the next few months. Safe to say that filming is well underway!
The cast even had dinner together with writer Jenny Han.
The rest of the cast is rounded out by newcomers. Anthony Keyvan plays Q, a queer extrovert. Gia Kim plays Yuri, a new friend of Kitty’s. Lee Sang Heon plays Min Ho, a handsome and confident ex-pat who has spent time in the UK, US, and Australia.
Not much else is known about the series. Filming began in South Korea on March 28, 2022, and is slated to end on June 7, 2022. The release date is slated for late 2022 or early 2023. Stay tuned for more about the series!
