TWICE’s Jihyo Impresses Netizens While Overcoming Technical Difficulties At The “2023 Billboard Women In Music Awards”
TWICE proved to be the main event at the 2023 Billboard Women In Music Awards held in the YouTube Theater in California, where they accepted the night’s “Breakthrough Artist” award.
TWICE officially became the first K-Pop group to receive an award at the annual ceremony and was the first artist to receive the “Breakthrough Artist” since Camila Cabello in 2017.
To support TWICE, ONCEs filled the theater, many of them with their “candy bongs” in hand, and drowned out the ceremony with their cheers for TWICE.

Their performance had fellow artists on their feet and dancing along, and ONCEs singing along to the song’s first live performance.

TWICE stunned fans with their live vocals and smooth choreography, and after the performance, “#PROUDOFJIHYO” began to trend as netizens reacted to and praised the group’s leader for overcoming technical difficulties during the performance.
As their performance started, it was evident that something was wrong with Jihyo‘s microphone when her voice was barely audible.
During the bridge of the song, Jihyo amazed fans when she took out her in-ear monitor and effectively projected her vocals enough to be picked up by other mics.
Netizens couldn’t help praising her professionalism and quick thinking, effortlessly making the best of an unfortunate situation.
THIS IS HOW ARTISTS SHOULD BE ON STAGE
The level of professionalism Jihyo has is incredible. Always giving her 100% best on stage. She sang the bridge part so loud despite the mic not working. 👏🏻 pic.twitter.com/VaZdaCPOVP
