TWICE Is Now The Girl Group That Holds The Record For The Highest Amount Of Sales For A Female Artist On Gaon
TWICE has just broken 2 records!
On a recent analysis of Gaon’s charts, it was revealed that on the list of top selling female artists of 2019, TWICE is now the girl group with the most amount of album sales by a female artist for the year! With their 2 mini-albums, FANCY YOU and FEEL SPECIAL this year, they surpassed 1.1 million in sales!
But that’s not all! They also broke another record this year on the Japanese Oricon charts! Tracking their sales from 2 years ago:
In 2017, they earned 1.54 billion yen (approximately $1,40,77,140 USD), in 2018, they earned 3.71 billion yen (approx. $3,39,13,110 USD), and in 2019, they earned 5.196 billion yen (approx. $4,74,96,636 USD).
With their current numbers, they broke the previous record set in 2011 by KARA for the highest amount earned by a girl group on the Oricon charts!

TWICE have been on fire this entire year, breaking records left and right! They recently wrapped up the Japan leg of their TWICELIGHTS tour, and have so far also enjoyed immense success with their recent Japanese album, &TWICE, with title track “Fake & True”.
TWICE is also to release their repackaged album of &TWICE in February 2020.
