Why TWICE’s U.S. Tour Was Vastly Different From Their Korean Tour, According To Chaeyoung
It hasn’t been long since JYP Entertainment girl group TWICE concluded their successful U.S. tour. They made history by becoming the first female K-Pop act to hold two separate arena tours in the United States where they made many unforgettable memories with fans.
It may not have been completely smooth-sailing—like when they had to rent a private jet because their flights were cancelled—but it was an experience of a lifetime that they wouldn’t have changed!
Now that months have passed since the “CHEER UP” singers concluded the tour, they fondly looked back on the memories they made. In an interview with Billboard, Jihyo and Chaeyoung shared their thoughts on it.
According to Jihyo, they were “really shocked” when they saw how many people showed up to see them…and that was just for their two-night performance at Los Angeles’ Banc of California Stadium.
“That was our first time having a concert of that scale, so it was really shocking for us to see so many fans in the U.S.,” said Jihyo.
On the other hand, Chaeyoung compared their U.S. tour to their Korean tour. She found that the two were very different because they were actually able to see their fans in person in the U.S.
At that time, Korea still had very strict COVID-19 protocols that prevented face to face concerts. The difference between the two was like night and day.
At that time in Korea, we couldn’t perform in the same way as in the U.S. So it was really refreshing to see the fans face to face in the U.S.

Luckily for Korean fans, JYP Entertainment recently announced that the girl group will be holding their fifth world tour soon, starting with Seoul! They will also be heading to Australia, Japan, and the U.S. where they are bound to make new and exciting memories with ONCEs.
