Both groups were nominated in the Fans’ Choice categories, previously known as Worldwide Fans’ Choice. This category was announced to be entirely decided by fans’ votes, with voting on the Mnet Plus App taking up 90% and 10% coming from SNS voting.

Additionally, live voting was announced to be factored into the voting.

This year, the category was divided into male and female groups, and fans closely monitored it before the show.

However, in the female category, fans were shocked that ITZY did not win the “Fans’ Choice Award.”

Many fans shared proof of ITZY’s placement in the voting before the show, showing that the group was in the top ten of the category. Many felt the group was robbed of their win and in disbelief that they would have dropped so close to the show.

The second group that netizens believe were robbed was ENHYPEN.

Proof shared by fans shows the group leading in all categories that were included for voting. The award was also said to include the results of the voting for the “Fans’ Choice” category + 10% based in live voting (90% Mnet Plus App + 10% SNS + 10% Live Vote.)
