Fans Accuse TWS For Allegedly Plagiarizing Popular Idol Group’s Song

They want to make this known to the public.

On July 15, K-Pop idol group TWS released the official performance music video “Double Take.”

While the video gave off a groovy vibe with a monotone concept, the song began receiving much criticism online.

Fans of BIGBANG noticed that the melody and the video were similar to GD&TOP‘s “Knock Out” video and began comparing the videos side by side.

We know that this is not the members’ fault, so we weren’t going to make a video, but because it was too similar, I decided to make this video (Do not criticize the artists; if you want to criticize, please do so to the company that made the song).

They noted the similarities in the music video angles, lyrics, and overall beat. They felt that if this wasn’t plagiarism, they wondered if there was a song that could actually be called plagiarized.

TWS’s song was released in 2024, while GD&TOP’s “Knock Out” was released in 2010.

Korean netizens also agreed that the melody sounded way too familiar.
