TXT’s “Anti-Romantic” Is Taking Over Marvel Cinematic Universe TikTok
Spoiler Alert
When TXT released their album The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE, one song, in particular, captured the attention of MOAs. Ever since “Anti-Romantic” became available as a sound to use on TikTok videos, they have been getting creative on the app. As of July 2, the number of times “Anti-Romantic” was used for content by TikTok users is nearly 200,000 times.
Content creator Zuki (@yutasbestie on TikTok) created a dance inspired by the song, easy enough for everyone to follow along as it is popular with the TikTok community. Shortly after, other MOAs started following along, thus officially creating a new dance trend.

A whole new phenomenon was created when irenedoll joined the trend. Her TikTok dancing went even more viral than the original (it currently has over 5 million likes and 29 million views).

She has three other versions up of the “Anti-Romantic” dance on her TikTok as well. Irenedoll’s videos of dancing Zuki’s choreography to TXT’s “Anti-Romantic” has blown up so much that it has made its way on to another side of TikTok now too.

The TXT fandom has now made its way into the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) fandom. It’s not just that that MCU fans will use TXT’s “Anti-Romantic” in some videos. Still, they will actually overlay a clip of irenedoll dancing as well over Marvel-related content.

Since discovering the new trend, creator petgoats posts a large number of these types of videos. The song, about conflicting emotions, lyrics are “Sorry, I’m an anti-romantic,” so typically is used in the context of doing something regardless of how others feel.

The trend has become especially popular with fans of Marvel’s Disney+ series Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston. The highly anticipated show is one of the most talked-about shows right now. Every Wednesday with a new episode release, you will find #Loki trending on Twitter and you might have to find yourself avoiding apps like TikTok too because of the number of spoiler-filled TikToks that appear on the “For You Page.”

In some ways, it is not all that surprising that two of the most popular things online would end up making their way to each other. Plus, with episode four’s events and plot twists, this song, along with irenedoll’s flipping of her middle finger, perfectly conveys viewers’ feelings.
