The group set the stage on fire with an impressive live performance at the event, drawing praise from netizens.

TXT also won the Push Performance of the Year award for “Sugar Rush Ride.”

While both their performance and the win were historic, another moment from the group’s appearance at the award show went viral on social media.

Before the main event, TXT appeared on the VMAs red carpet, dressed up to the nines in Dior, the brand they represent as global ambassadors.

While all five members boasted dashing visuals on the carpet, one of the cameramen seemed especially enamored by Beomgyu‘s visual. When the group arrived on the red carpet, the camera panned to Beomgyu and zoomed into his face for a good few seconds. The clip immediately went viral, with fans going gaga over his lethal “face card.”

But the clip also brought back a core memory for BTS fans when this exact incident happened with Jin. During the 2020 Grammy Awards, the septet appeared on the red carpet sporting Louis Vuitton. Amidst the dashing visuals of all the members, one of the cameras seemed to get stuck on Jin’s face with a fast zoom-in. The clip soon became an iconic part of BTS’s “lore,” earning Jin the nickname of the “zoom-in guy.”

The uncanny similarity between Beomgyu’s VMAs moment and Jin’s Grammy clip was noticed immediately by fans, with some even dubbing it as a “like father like son” moment.
