TXT Sums Up This Year In “F2020”: “Low-Key F**k 2020”
If there’s one thing everyone can agree on, it’s that the 2020 we wanted wasn’t the 2020 we got. From deadly wildfires to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year was a dystopian movie we never, ever want to see again.
In July, Avenue Beat released “F2020”, an anthem for millions that went viral on TikTok. The song addresses financial hardships, the death of loved ones, the pandemic, and more. It ends with this plea, “Can we just get to 2021?”.
Now, 2021 is nearly here and so is TXT’s own version of “F2020”. On December 29, the same day Yeonjun made his acting debut, the group released a surprise cover for MOA on SoundCloud.
TXT’s “F2020” mixes English lyrics from the original “F2020”, like “lowkey f**k 2020″, with new Korean lyrics that reflect the members’ own experiences dealing with pandemic life. TXT sings about postponed concerts, being separated from fans, recording performances in empty venues, and loneliness.
Let’s leave 2020 far behind us and embrace the start of 2021 with TXT’s “F2020” cover!
