A new K-Drama is receiving praise and criticism for two completely different reasons.

On August 12, Kim Seon Ho made his highly anticipated comeback alongside Cha Seung Won, Kim Kang Woo, and Jo Yoon Soo in a Disney+ series about the race to find a stolen bioweapon.

On social media, viewers expressed their love for the series’ plot and the cast’s acting, particularly that of Kim Seon Ho (who plays the director of a South Korean national intelligence agency)…

…and Jo Yoon So (who plays a technician turned thief).

Teasers for the series promised an action-packed thriller that delves into dark subject matter, but The Tyrant is literally too dark to watch at times.

According to viewers, some of the four-episode series’ scenes were distractingly dark, “so dark you can barely make out what’s happening.” The “awful” lighting made it difficult to watch an otherwise intriguing show.
