Popular YouTuber Tzuyang Hit With Severe Backlash In Response To Racist Video

Popular YouTuber Tzuyang is under fire for a racially insensitive video.

Recently, Tzuyang released a video titled “Vietnamese Restaurant Where You Eat In Line.”

In the video, the YouTube is seen visiting a Vietnamese restaurant. On this day, Tzuyang was accompanied by comedian Kim Ji Young, who was in character as Ni Tong. Ni Tong is a racist caricature based on Filipino stereotypes in Korea.

Kim Ji Young is then shown speaking in broken Korean and mocking Filipino accents.

The comedian’s hurtful and racist caricature has immediately sparked a backlash against Tzuyang, whose 9 Million subscribers include fans from the Philippines. Many commented their horror and disappointment at the video. International audiences were not alone in their dismay, as many Koreans also expressed outrage over the video.

Seriously, I am sure you have Filipino fans… I just don’t understand why you would film with someone who mocks Filipinos… Did you really not think this was racist? I remember SNL was criticized for racially depicting Southeast Asians… Why are there so many racist videos?
I can only thank the Filipinos who kindly criticize with grace. I am sure the videos weren’t uploaded maliciously. I hope Tzuyang will be able to address the issue with proper feedback.
They aren’t even eating Filipino food. This is racist. I am sure there were many people who helped make this video, the fact that no one pointed out that this was racist just shows how backward her crew is.

It’s disappointing that you still don’t know that mocking someone’s pronunciation is racist. Think how you would feel if Europeans mocked Son Heung Min or if Americans mocked BTS’s English. This type of comedy is beneath you.
